Before You Travel Using Public Transportation, Read This |

One of our customers recently wrote to us to tell of an experience he had when trying to board a commercial flight. When he passed though security and emptied his pockets of metallic objects, one of the items he carried was his Colibri torch type of butane lighter. Upon notice of the Colibri, he was informed that he would not be allowed to carry it on the flight and it was immediately confiscated as a potential weapon. The Federal Transportation Security Administration has developed guidelines for all persons utilizing commercial transportation. To view a list of items prohibited as carry on or checked baggage items click here to view the guidelines in PDF format. It has also been noted by some people that that guidelines established by the T.S.A. are not enforced consistently at all airports. Prior to your scheduled flight, you may wish to contact the airport(s) that you will be departing from to question whether any item that you wish to carry on or check, will pass through security checks. The Colibri Shop wants all of our visitors to travel safely and without incident. Most of all, enjoy your trip!
